Lambing season is now in full swing across Suffolk, and our farmers are working round the clock to keep their flocks safe.
It’s a timely reminder that new livestock worrying laws are now in place — giving Police greater powers where dogs chase, injure or stress sheep and other livestock.
Please keep your dog on a lead around farmland, stick to marked footpaths, and don’t assume a usually well‑behaved dog won’t get excited around young lambs. Even chasing without contact can cause serious harm. The new legislation means:
